About Amanda’s
Proudly serving Eudora and De Soto, Kansas!
Amanda's Dance Academy has been inspiring the art of dance since March of 2007. Our students enjoy a variety of exciting activities throughout the year including an professional recital each summer. Other activities include bring a friend to class week, monthly My Night Out's for parents, summer dance camps, CPA Parade, EudoraFest, Medical Lodge Performance, World's of Fun Dance Festival, and a father-daughter dance in the recital. We are always adding new and exciting activities, so be sure to check our online calendar!
Our professional facility includes new bamboo dance floors with full-sized mirrors and a double ballet barre. We also have a lobby area to accommodate parents and family, with a Live TV feed of classes in progress, so parents can enjoy watching their children learn. Our lobby also has cubbies which the dancers can store their items. We sell quality dancewear at our studio, this makes it convenient for parents to get all necessary shoes and clothing items for dance instruction. Additionally, an Amanda's Dance Academy representative is present in the lobby to answer any questions you may have.
Our Academy travels to offer classes and camps at daycares and parks and recreation centers. We currently offer classes and camps at Kiddie Korner Daycare and the De Soto Parks and Recreation Center.
Our curriculum meets the National Standards for Arts Education, which means our dancers are instructed in proper technique in all styles of dance that we teach. This will help prevent injuries and allows students to execute choreography more efficiently. Dance is something that takes a lifetime to learn, and it is a slow gradual process. Amanda's Dance Academy is successfully teaching dance as an art form in a academic context. Our student's learn dance vocabulary, history, and about the large variety of dance genres. Our academy is not only educating students in dance but also by providing them with the following skills; Listening, Auditory Processing, Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking, Balance, Gross Motor Coordination, Anatomy, Biomechanics, Personal Space, Group participation, Memory, Parental Involvement (coloring pages/worksheets). We believe these skills are necessary for our students to succeed both in and out of dance class.
